Doing some research, there was not a definite answer but they all mention that the internals are the same between both. This section includes a graphic summary for each UAP shown in the table above, portraying radiation plots for Azimuth, Elevation 0°, Elevation 90° and Mapped 3D, for three different frequencies: 5.20GHz, 5.50GHz and 5.80GHz. The speed decreases as I go down to the next level. Note: The antennas for the UAP-AC-M were angled at 45° to generate the plots as shown in the images above. That has worked perfectly for me in my situation. I’d use the FlexHD on a wall or table in the center of an area if possible.
UAP-AC-M-Pro vs. FlexHD? Omni range is more important to me than speed for this particular application.

I very much prefer the form factor of the FlexHD as the Mesh Pro seems way too big, but I can't find any specs on the FlexHD so not sure where to go with this.

The UWB-XG models do not operate on the 2.4GHz band. And remember, higher power doesn't equal better throughput. Deploying our FlexHD was more or less as easy as plugging in a PoE source to the connector at the rear. Check the datasheet and waveform and you will see that they work best on the ceiling. Comparing the specs, it looks like the noticeable difference is the Antenna Gain at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Use the Design Center to design your UniFi Network using the most suitable products. Agreeing with /u/THX5635 on this one. From here you can browse all of your APs, and access their respective web consoles with a click.
I configured them to 5ghz VHT80 with medium signal strength so that my wireless devices roam easily and I get fast speeds and great signal strength anywhere I go.
The recommendation I found for the nanoHD is one per floor. share. There’s a ceiling mount kit for the flex that hides a portion of it in the ceiling, I was considering that for our upstairs, but the flex starts more expensive than the Nano, and the ceiling kits another $15-$20; so I will likely just get the Nano.

I can't any performance difference between the two. I have great coverage all over the house.
The degrees on the circumference represent ‘Azimuth’. the same apart from different antenna design - but I'm sure there are some differences in performance.I recently got the nanoHD, I've tried all kinds of different positions but the signal is pretty disappointing just one floor below, so I'm thinking about sending it back and trying the flexHD instead.
Does anyone here own both the FlexHD and nanoHD? The solution was 3 separate access points, mounted centrally on the ceiling of each level. Trying to get signal through the floor can be tough. It is designed for hemispheric coverage. Close.

NanoHD = 2.8 dBi for 2.4ghz and 3 dBi for the 5ghz.
If you haven’t already set up your wireless networks, you can do this on the Settings page of the UNC web console: here you can name your SSIDs, choose encryption schemes, enable meshing with other UniFi APs, apply RADIUS authentication and add a schedule to determine when the SSIDs will be available.
